3.14/Pi → One of Abe's specialties is to recite 100 digits of Pi.39 → In Japanese these numbers can be read as sankyu (サンキュー), so it spells Sa Ku (さく). Since the format for dates in Japanese is month first and then date, March 9th is often referred to as 39 (saku/さく) day. Sakuma-tans often refer to this day as a Sakuma Day.390 → In Japanese these numbers can be read as sankyuma(ru)(さんきゅま), so it spells Sa Ku Ma (さくま). Many Sakuma fans use this number combo in their handles.8.8. → Their debut was announced at Tokyo Dome on the 8th of August, 2019. 8 is also shaped like a snowman and it is also Tamayuki’s birthday! Abe-chan sensei (sensei = teacher/阿部ちゃん先生) → Recurring activity of Snow Man at concerts and SnowTube where Abe-chan, their smartest member, is the teacher and presents riddles and exercises for the other members.Abezou (あべぞう) → Abe’s dog/cat character in Takizawa Kabuki ZERO.Acrylic stand war → Previously, Snow Man’s acrylic stands that were sold on IsLAND Store were not sold on a pre-order basis. There were limited quantities available and were often not restocked immediately. Because of this, many fans would try to purchase it as soon as it goes on sale and this led to the server crashing for hours.“All-purpose seasoning for everybody, not salted koji but Mukai Koji” (Minna no bannou choumiryou koto Shio Kouji yori mo Mukai Kouji desu/皆の万能調味料こと塩麹よりも向井康二です) → Koji’s introduction that he always does when introducing himself. Salted koji is a Japanese seasoning, and the pun comes from the fact that his name Koji sounds like the seasoning.anan → Women’s magazine which often has Johnny’s groups or members on the cover. Famous for their sexy and alluring photoshoots. A solo anan cover is often considered to be quite an achievement.Avex → The record label of Snow Man. Johnny’s groups are not all under the same label. Snow Man, Kis-My-Ft2 and V6 are under Avex. Avex is known for their extravagant promotions when a new album or DVD is released. They also manage Snow Man’s official website.Azatoi (あざとい) → An adjective that describes sly, sexy/cute behavior that’s intended to make the other party be all smitten. Such as pouting your lips, winking, touching your lips, etc.Azatoi keisatsu (Azatoi police/あざとい警察) → A recurring joke where someone (often Sakuma) arrests someone (often Abe) for being too azatoi.Babui (バブイ) → It means "like a baby".Black Clover (ブラクロバー) → A shounen anime and manga. Snow Man provided opening songs (OP 11 - Stories and OP 13 - Grandeur) for the anime. Sakuma’s anime original character ended up as an official character in the manga as well.Bell pepper (piiman/ピーマン) → Sakuma occasionally adds ‘piiman’ to various words randomly (e.g. yoroshikupiiman/よろしくピーマン or saikoupiiman/最高ピーマン). There’s really no meaning to it other than Sakuma liking how the word sounds (and that he likes bell peppers). Since Sakuma likes adding ‘piiman’ to words, it was also included in the lyrics of their shoukai rap.Biju (ビジュ) → Short for visuals. This is mainly used to refer to their appearance.Board Games → A popular topic for the weekly YouTube series. Sakuma often does the introduction for board game videos.Boke (ボケ) → Boke means saying or doing something funny or silly or stupid for the laughs. Tsukkomi means the reaction to that. Boke and tsukkomi come from Japanese comedy manzai, where there’s often two people - one doing the boke and one the tsukkomi.Bouken Shounen (冒険少年) → Meme & Koji are regularly on this survival-themed variety show.Burst Accounts → Accounts that are mostly used for voting and Billboard charts. They help retweet tweets from accounts that are not based in JP so that it will be counted in the charts.Cinnamoroll → A cute dog character by Sanrio. Fans told Shota that his mouth resembles the 3-shaped mouth of Cinnamoroll and they went to Sanrio Puroland to meet Cinnamoroll. It has become the signature character of Shota and Shoppi fans.Cocoa and Tiara → Meme’s two chihuahuas. Cocoa passed away in 2020.Countdown / JCD → Annual Johnny’s concert that is broadcast on TV on New Year’s Eve where all groups gather to perform.Crane games / UFO catchers (クレーンゲーム) → Fukka’s hobby. Fukka is good at operating crane games and Snow Man has played crane games for their Youtube videos.Crayfish (Japanese: zarigani/ザリガニ) → Fishing crayfish is Meme’s special skill, he likes fishing. Snow Man went to fish for crayfish for one of their Youtube videos and Meme has also worn a lobster costume for Halloween, so crayfish is kind of his image character.Cry Out → Snow Man's song from Shounentachi 2019 stage play. It's a popular song among fans and many has been requesting for them to upload a dance video for it on their channel. (Snow Man does know it's highly requested)Edogawa-ku (江戸川区) → It’s one of the special wards in Tokyo Metropolis. Sakuma, Shoppi and Date are all from that area.Egg Dog → An iconic picture Shota drew on one Youtube video. It’s a dog whose head is the shape of an egg.Daiya (from Diamond) → The name of Date’s horse (it’s not a real one).Datetama (だてたま) → That name of Date's dog character in Takizawa Kabuki ZERO. First made an appearance in 2021.Doki doki (ドキドキ) → Japanese onomatopoeia for heart beating.Douki (同期) → Peers. People who joined the agency at the same time. Abe and Fukka are douki to each other.Dorama-han (“Drama Trio/Group”/ドラマ班) → Consists of Sakuma (Leader), Koji (Captain) and Fukka (Hanchou/班長/Squad leader), the members that are in charge of comedy/variety. They were first mentioned in the “Rhythm Gesture Game” youtube video, and later announced their official formation date as 21.1.2021 on Island TV. Meme is sometimes credited as their manager/producer.“Doshita Iwamoto?” (What’s going on, Iwamoto?/どうした岩本?) → Started off by SASUKE’s announcer when Hikaru fell off to the lake in one of his attempts and the boys started using it in Soresuno when Hikaru had trouble in a challenge.FINEBOYS → Meme’s regular fashion magazine.Fruit sandwich incident → Meme once brought a pack of fruit sandwiches to work and planned on bringing it home with him. However, the other members ended up eating them without him knowing. Sakuma admitted that he ate one but Raul was the one who ate the rest.Fujii Ryusei → Member of Johnny’s West, a Kansai group. Close with Koji.Fujiya (不二家) → Company specializing in cakes and chocolates, Snow Man collaborates with them.Fukka-chan (ふっかちゃん) → The mascot of Fukaya City in Saitama, a place they visited in 2018 for a YouTube video on the jr channel.Gantarou (がんたろう) → Hikaru’s dog character in Takizawa Kabuki 2018.Gin-san (銀さん) → Shota’s Takizawa Kabuki character for the Nezumi Kozo portion of the stage play. Kin-san’s younger brother.Goemon/Goemon ZERO → The kabuki section of Takizawa Kabuki. It is often done in the first half of the stage play.Goigoisu! (ゴイゴイスー) → A gag made popular by Japanese comedian Tsuda from the comedy duo Daian. Koji adopted the joke from Tsuda and has his permission to use it, but he has been told to think of his own gags and thus he has moved to using Momiage Shuriken more lately.Golden Sakuma (kin no sakuma/金の佐久間) → A recurring joke that a winner of a contest will get a golden Sakuma trophy delivered. Started in the Jr. SunoTube when they had the Sakuma quiz, it was supposed to be the trophy for the winner.Hako Oshi (箱推し) → A term used by someone who doesn't have a specific favourite and supports everyone in the group.Hara Yoshitaka → (ex) Member of UchuuSix with Meme. Meme’s douki and they were often referred to as “HaraMegu”.Haunted houses → Recurring theme for SnowTube videos. Started when they made Hikaru go into a haunted house on Youtube.“Hey, Iwamoto, isn’t this amazing? (Ne Iwamoto-kun, kore yabakunai?/ね岩本これやばくない?)” → Sakuma said it to Hikaru during the “Guess what Miyadate wants to eat” video.High school → Fukka loves to talk about his high school days as he says that it was his peak popular time. He tells that he had girls almost swarm over him, bring him his shoes and fetch his bag etc.High Heel → The name of Date’s white tiger (a plushie). It was given to him by Tackey.Hiraite Tojite Hiraite Tojite Kaiten Ikemen (開いて閉じて開いて閉じて回転イケメン) → It’s from their song, Acrobatic. When there’s an audience, the “Ikemen” part is normally shouted by the audience. Hiraite means ‘open’, tojite means ‘close’ and kaiten means ‘rotation’. Hikaru used this to explain the choreography easier and then they just started to include it in actual performances too.HLS / Honey Lemon Soda → Movie released in summer 2021, Raul has the lead male role. It’s a live action adaptation of an existing manga with the same name.

“I am a citizen!” (Ore wa shimin da!/俺は市民だ!) → Recurring joke that whenever they play Werewolf Game, Sakuma always dies first even though he keeps claiming that he is just a regular citizen in the game.Ikemen (イケメン) → Handsome man.IMPACTors → A Johnny's Jr group that often works with Snow Man in Takizawa Kabuki ZERO.Island TV → A website where Johnny’s Juniors upload short videos of their activities. Snow Man used to be there but as they debuted they moved on to Jweb.Island Store → A shop where they sell merchandise of junior groups.J.J.Express → Fukka’s old group. It was mostly made up of the current Hey! Say! JUMP members and A.B.C-Z’s Hashimoto Ryosuke. Fukka was the last to debut among the remaining J.J.Express members.Johnny’s web / Jweb → A website where all Johnny’s blogs are. Need a paid subscription to read.Johnny’s FC / Fanclub → A paid yearly service you can join with a Japanese address and phone number. Gives you access to newsletters, photos, videos, and concert balloting. In principle you cannot access Johnny’s shows without a fanclub account.Jr.BOYS → Fukka, Sakuma, Shoppi, Date, Hikaru and Abe were all members of this junior group before they became Mis Snow Man members.Kabuki (歌舞伎) → Traditional Japanese performance art with singing and dancing incorporated in a highly stylized manner. It’s a popular theatrical form in Japan.Kacho Fugetsu → A section in Takizawa Kabuki ZERO. It is a dance number.Kakkoii (カッコイイ) → Cool/nice/skilled/good-looking/fancy/admirable. Can be used for behavior, clothes, appearance, way of talking...Kamenashi Kazuya → A member of KAT-TUN, another Johnny’s senpai group. Date’s admired senpai and is close with him.Kamenashi Club (KC) → A circle of Johnny’s friends, Miyadate and Meme is a member of it. [Other members include Kis-My-Ft2’s Fujigaya Taisuke and Yokoo Wataru]Kawai Fumito → A member of senpai group A.B.C-Z. Close with Fukka, perhaps Fukka’s favorite senpai. Fukka chose his member color purple because of Fumi.Kawai-kai → A circle of Johnny’s friends under Kawai Fumito, Fukka is a member and one of the members you need to go through to join the group.Kishouyohoushi (気象予報士) → Weather Forecaster. The passing rate to become a weather forecaster in Japan is 4%. It took Abe several times before he succeeded in getting his qualification.KimiKare (君彼) → Kimi no kareshi ni naritai, a coupling song from Kissin’ My Lips single.Kin Kan (King of Kansai) → Koji’s former jr group. This was his last jr group before he joined Snow Man. After Kin Kan disbanded, Koji spent a few years as a solo junior.Kin-san (金さん) → Sakuma’s Takizawa Kabuki character for the Nezumi Kozo portion of the stage play. A wealthy scaredy-cat.Kirashi (キラシ) → From the word "kira/キラッ" which means glittering, sparkling, glistening, twinkling. The other members make fun of Sakuma's handwriting where the small 'tsu' (ッ - this is silent) looks more like 'shi' (シ).Kirikomitaichou (切り込み隊長) → Charge commander. A term used to describe Sakuma as he is often the first to take action.Kis-My-Ft2 → another Johnny’s group, Snow Man’s senpai group. Many of their members are close with Snow Man members since they have worked together a lot and are roughly the same age. Snow Man backdanced for them for years and they often call them, "Kisumai-niisan". (Niisan means big brother)Kitty Jr. → A Johnny’s Jr. group that Date and Sakuma were a part of (they weren’t full members, sub-members basically. It was very common for juniors to switch groups in the past).Kiterune (キテルネ) → A segment in ZIP! (a morning tv show) that Abe regularly appears in.Kokuou (国王) → It means ‘king’. Sakuma occasionally uses it to refer to Date.Kokumin (国民) → It means ‘citizen’. Used to refer to the citizens of Miyadate Kingdom and it’s mostly used by Sakuma.Kouhai (後輩) → Junior. Someone younger or of lower ranking than you at school, work, etc. (See also senpai)Kotorigumi (小鳥組) → The name of Hikaru’s kindergarten class.Kyun / kyun kyun / munekyun (キュン/キュンキュン/胸キュン) → Japanese word that describes the tingly feeling in your chest when you see something cute or romantic, feel strongly etc.Language of flowers / Flower Language (Hana Kotoba/花言葉) → Date-sama often asks “Have you heard of what xx means in flower language?” It is part of his prince character.Little Gangs → Koji’s former jr group.Maido Jyani (まいどジャニー) → A kansai jr variety show. Koji was the MC for the show for a few years.Manzai (漫才) → A type of Japanese stand-up comedy that usually involves two people trading jokes or acting out skits together. Usually consists of a funny man (boke) and a straight man (tsukkomi).Maxa North (Makusa Nosu/マクサノース) → Sakuma’s character from Black Clover. Originally just an additional character for the anime’s filler episodes but was eventually added in the manga’s main storyline. The name of the character is a play on ‘Suno Sakuma’.MEN'S NON-NO → A monthly men's fashion and lifestyle magazine. Raul is a regular in the magazine.Menkara (メンカラ) → Short for "member colour".Mis Snow Man → Before there was Snow Man, there was Mis Snow Man before the group dissolved in 2011 due to the separation of Noon Boyz (Sanada Yuma and Nozawa Yuki) from it. Mis Snow Man was created with the boys from junior group Jr.Boys for Takizawa Kakumei in January 2009. The name was supposed to have their initials but Fukka’s F was never there.Mitochondria-kun → Shota's interpretation of Mitochondria. First appear in Johnny's Jr. SnowTube on 05/09/2018.Miya-chan → Often used to refer to Date’s softer side.Miyadate Kingdom (Miyadate Oukoku/宮舘王国) → An (imaginary) kingdom with Date as its ruler.Miyake Ken → A member of V6, a daisenpai group of Snow Man. He is the admired senpai of Sakuma and Koji. A recurring joke is that even though Sakuma and Koji are total Ken fanboys, Ken refuses to give his contact information to them. They send messages to Ken via Island TV and Jweb instead.Miyata-kai → A circle of Johnny’s friends, Sakuma is a member and is the one you need to go through to join the group. [Other members include Kis-My-Ft2’s Miyata Toshiya (leader) and Kitayama Hiromitsu, A.B.C-Z’s Tsukada Ryoichi, Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yabu Kota and Chinen Yuri and Travis Japan’s Yoshizawa Shizuya. Yamamoto Ryota (UchuuSix) and Inaba Hikaru (MADE) were members as well before they left the agency]Miyata Toshiya → A member of Kis-My-Ft2. Sakuma’s admired senpai, an anime otaku like Sakuma.Momiage shuriken / “Sideburn Ninja Star” (もみあげ手裏剣) → Koji’s recurring joke that he does, where he pretends to pull ninja stars from his sideburns and makes a heart with his fingers.Momonosuke → Sakuma’s ninja name from Sore Suno 22.01.2021.Monokuro (モノクロ) → A section of Takizawa Kabuki ZERO 2019 where they do a sword fight.Monomane (モノマネ) → Impressions. Imitating someone or something for comedy purposes. Fukka’s specialty.Moon-chan → Sakuma family’s dog, a dachshund.Mozzarella Cheese → It’s one of the games they did during their 9hr livestream in 2020 where one person had to say ‘mozzarella cheese’ louder than the previous person. It was a game suggested by Abe.Muay Thai → Koji used to do thaiboxing when he was younger. He was scouted at their thaiboxing gym.Muay Thai Mukai Brothers → Koji’s former jr group. Consisted of him and his older brother.Mukai Hana → Koji’s mother. She is from Thailand and taught Koji Thai language.Mukai Tatsuro → Koji’s older brother. Used to be a Johnny’s Junior with Koji, they had a unit called Muay Thai Mukai Brothers. Quit Johnny’s and is a father now and has his own business.Muro Ryuta → Kansai Johnny's that Koji used to work with often and they have a song together called "Let Me Go". Many fans saw the song as a harbinger of the future of RutaKoji, where Koji joined Snow Man and Ryuta joining the acting team. Muro also gets along well with Sakuma.Naberou (なべろう) → Shoppi’s dog character in Takizawa Kabuki.Nakajima Kento → Member of Sexy Zone and a close friend of Hikaru.Namio (ナミヲ) → Koji’s alter ego that he does sometimes, “a middle-aged Kansai man”. (He’s been rather secretive about Namio, that’s basically all he said.)Namiwo (ナミヲ) → The short form of Namida No Umi Wo Koete Ike.Naomichin → Sakuma’s mother (nickname). Back in the 1980’s she was an idol along with the mother of SixTONES member Kyomoto Taiga.Nezumi Kozo (鼠小僧) → Tackey’s character in Takizawa Kabuki. It’s the acting portion of the stage play (2nd half of the stage play). Additional information: Nezumi Kozo is a Japanese thief and folk hero who lived in Edo during the Edo period. Tackey starred in a drama about him and has adapted it in Takizawa Kabuki as well.Niki (ニキ) → A nickname for Hikaru by Meme. (Niki is short for aniki/big brother)Nimaime / Sanmaime (Handsome Guy / Comedian/二枚目/三枚目) → Japanese terms to describe “types of men”. Roughly divided in two, the handsome and cool guys are called nimaime and the comedians are called sanmaime. For example in Snow Man, Meme could be called nimaime while Fukka is often said to be sanmaime (although he jokes that he is in fact nimaime).No More Wait → Mis Snow Man’s one and only original song.Numa (沼) → It is slang for "being hooked on something". Formally, "numa" means "swamp".-Ou (-King/○○王) → A series that they do on their YouTube channel where they challenge each other to become "king". E.g. "Social Distance King" and "Fukazawa Tatsuya King"Omaru-san (お丸さん) → Fukka’s female Kabuki character for the Nezumi Kozo portion of the stage play. A dango shop owner.Onnagata (女形) → A part of Takizawa Kabuki’s stage play where Sakuma and Abe play female roles in Japanese Kabuki theatre. “Onnagata” are male actors who perform the role of women in kabuki.Otaku (オタク) → A Japanese word often used to describe someone who is crazy about manga and anime. Comes from the word 宅 taku which basically means home = a fan who spends all of their time inside of their home to just consume content. However, it is often used lightly to just describe a devoted fan. A Johnny’s otaku is called janiota/janiwota/johnnyota. Sakuma is an anime otaku and he often introduces himself as one.OwaMemo (おわめも) → The short form of Owaranai Memories.“Panic panic (panikku panikku/パニックパニック)” → Something Shoppi said in the bouldering YouTube video they did and is now often used as a reaction by Snow Man fans.Pan Team → a play word on “one team”, when team IwaAbe in Soresuno was given a tight budget but Hikaru bought toast bread (shokupan) enough for him, Abe-chan and the rest of the staff with them so everyone can eat along.Party time → Date-sama’s call. Used when something exciting is happening.Penlight → A type of lightstick that fans wave at concerts.Photo Boy → A name Koji uses for his photography work.Pompompurin → A pudding-shaped dog character by Sanrio that has become the unofficial signature character for Abe-chan. Abe-chan wore a Pompompurin headband when they visited Sanrio Puroland.

Q - Z

Quiz-bu (クイズ部) → A Johnny’s circle made up of intelligent Johnny’s and they often appear in quiz shows. Abe is the leader.Quiz shows → Abe-chan’s hobby is studying so he has a lot of random facts, hence why he participates in a lot of quiz shows on TV.Rainbow Rose → Date-sama’s pet parakeet.RIEHATA → A well known dancer and choreographer. Raul was a student of hers before he joined Johnny’s.Ride on Time / ROT → A backstage documentary series about Johnny’s. Snow Man was featured in Seasons 1 and 3.Rock ICE → Collaboration CM with Rock Ice. They advertised ready-made plastic mugs filled with ice you can buy at konbini.Royal → Date-sama’s character / role in the group is the prince. They say he never loses his character, even off camera. His style, behavior and all about him are prince-like, hence why they call him royal / noble / aristocrat.Sakuma’s iconic refrigerator → Comes up almost every time someone else talks about going over to Sakuma’s house. They talk about his fancy fridge that has buttons that can open the doors of it. Sakuma jokingly complained that because they kept playing with it, the electricity bills were higher for the month.Sakumanager → A very old nickname for Sakuma. Back in 2009-2012 Sakuma was very serious and was considered the “leader” of the group. The others sometimes called him leader back then even. Very rarely we see him let this side of him out. You can see it when he’s dancing or teaching others. (Some juniors are afraid of this part of him, please watch ROT for evidence)Sakuma-niki (佐久間ニキ) → A nickname given to him by other anime otaku fans when he was participating in the Anisama 2017 commentary video. “Niki” comes from the word “aniki/big brother”.Sakurai Sho → Member of Arashi and Abe's admired senpai. Abe has received various gifts from him in the past years.SamaPara / Summer Paradise (サマパラ) → Recurring tour in summer where groups such as Sexy Zone, Snow Man, Johnny’s Jrs. etc have performed. Usually they covered a lot of senpai songs. Last SamaPara for Snow Man was in 2019.SASUKE → Japanese television program (Ninja Warrior in the US) on which Hikaru has participated several times. First few times he failed but on his 6th try he managed to get to the 2nd round. He has also made friends through the show, such as Wasabi from Wagakki band and Golden Bomber member Kenji Darvish.Sausage → Fans thought Shota was singing "sausage" in Hello Hello but it was actually "throw straight".Seigi (正義) → It means "justice", "right", "rightousness", "correct explanation", "correct meaning". Abe used this word in their remote lunch SnowTube when it was revealed that Date had the same onigiri as Shoppi.Senga Kento → A member of Kis-My-Ft2. Close with Shoppi.Senpai (先輩) → Senior. Someone older or of higher ranking than you, such as your older colleague, people at school who are in higher grades than you, etc.Server crashes → A common occurrence when Snow Man is involved as their fans have no chill. When Meme’s FINEBOYS covers were released in 2020, the FINEBOYS servers crashed in 10s. The second time it happened, it crashed in 5s.Sexy Royal Beautiful (utsukushii/セクシ、ロイヤル、美しい) -- Date-sama’s motto.Shadow WEST -- Koji’s former jr group.Shigeoka Daiki → Memeber of Johnny's WEST and close with Hikaru.Shinme → People who dance in symmetrical positions. Johnny’s Juniors and talents often have symmetrical positions in choreography formations and some juniors are often paired together as shinme.Shonentachi (少年たち) → A yearly stage play in which Snow Man acted for several years. Last Shonentachi for Snow Man was in 2019.Shonen Ninja (少年忍者) → A big Johnny’s Junior group. Raul used to be a member before he joined Snow Man.Shoukai Rap (紹介ラップ) → Introduction rap. It’s a song used to introduce the members.”Sinks deep into your heart!” (Gozouroppu ni shimiwataru!/五臓六腑に染み渡る!) → A recurring joke made popular by a manzai group. Roughly means that something is very good.SixTONES → Snow Man’s peer group, they debuted together in 2020. Most members are very close with each other as they have had many jobs together over the years. The members of SixTONES often calls Snow Man, "Manzu-niisan".Slow straight → On 26th June 2021, Shota uploaded a video on their official twitter account explaining that he did not say "sausage" in Hello Hello. He was explaining that it was actually "throw straight" but many fans misheard it as "slow straight".Snow Life → Snow Man’s first regular serialization in the magazine, The Television.SnowTube/SunoTube → Snow Man’s Youtube videos and channel.Sophia University (Jochi daigaku/上智大学) → Abe graduated from this prestigious Japanese private university. Comes from the word 宅 taku which basically means home = a fan who spends all of their time inside of their home to just consume content. However, it is often used lightly to just describe a devoted fan. A Johnny’s otaku is called janiota/janiwota/johnnyota. Sakuma is an anime otaku and he often introduces himself as one.OwaMemo (おわめも) → The short form of Owaranai Memories.“Panic panic (panikku panikku/パニックパニック)” → Something Shoppi said in the bouldering YouTube video they did and is now often used as a reaction by Snow Man fans.Pan Team → a play word on “one team”, when team IwaAbe in Soresuno was given a tight budget but Hikaru bought toast bread (shokupan) enough for him, Abe-chan and the rest of the staff with them so everyone can eat along.Party time → Date-sama’s call. Used when something exciting is happening.Penlight → A type of lightstick that fans wave at concerts.Photo Boy → A name Koji uses for his photography work.Pompompurin → A pudding-shaped dog character by Sanrio that has become the unofficial signature character for Abe-chan. Quiz-bu (クイズ部) → A Johnny’s circle made up of intelligent Johnny’s and they often appear in quiz shows. Abe is the leader.Quiz shows → Abe-chan’s hobby is studying so he has a lot of random facts, hence why he participates in a lot of quiz shows on TV.Rainbow Rose → Date-sama’s pet parakeet.RIEHATA → A well known dancer and choreographer. Raul was a student of hers before he joined Johnny’s.Ride on Time / ROT → A backstage documentary series about Johnny’s. Snow Man was featured in Seasons 1 and 3.Rock ICE → Collaboration CM with Rock Ice. They advertised ready-made plastic mugs filled with ice you can buy at konbini.Royal → Date-sama’s character / role in the group is the prince. They say he never loses his character, even off camera. His style, behavior and all about him are prince-like, hence why they call him royal / noble / aristocrat.Sakuma’s iconic refrigerator → Comes up almost every time someone else talks about going over to Sakuma’s house. They talk about his fancy fridge that has buttons that can open the doors of it. Sakuma jokingly complained that because they kept playing with it, the electricity bills were higher for the month.Sakumanager → A very old nickname for Sakuma. Back in 2009-2012 Sakuma was very serious and was considered the “leader” of the group. The others sometimes called him leader back then even. Very rarely we see him let this side of him out. You can see it when he’s dancing or teaching others. (Some juniors are afraid of this part of him, please watch ROT for evidence)Sakuma-niki (佐久間ニキ) → A nickname given to him by other anime otaku fans when he was participating in the Anisama 2017 commentary video. “Niki” comes from the word “aniki/big brother”.Sakurai Sho → Member of Arashi and Abe's admired senpai. Abe has received various gifts from him in the past years.SamaPara / Summer Paradise (サマパラ) → Recurring tour in summer where groups such as Sexy Zone, Snow Man, Johnny’s Jrs. etc have performed. Usually they covered a lot of senpai songs. Last SamaPara for Snow Man was in 2019.SASUKE → Japanese television program (Ninja Warrior in the US) on which Hikaru has participated several times. First few times he failed but on his 6th try he managed to get to the 2nd round. He has also made friends through the show, such as Wasabi from Wagakki band and Golden Bomber member Kenji Darvish.Sausage → Fans thought Shota was singing "sausage" in Hello Hello but it was actually "throw straight".Seigi (正義) → It means "justice", "right", "rightousness", "correct explanation", "correct meaning". Abe used this word in their remote lunch SnowTube when it was revealed that Date had the same onigiri as Shoppi.Senga Kento → A member of Kis-My-Ft2. Close with Shoppi.Senpai (先輩) → Senior. Someone older or of higher ranking than you, such as your older colleague, people at school who are in higher grades than you, etc.Server crashes → A common occurrence when Snow Man is involved as their fans have no chill. When Meme’s FINEBOYS covers were released in 2020, the FINEBOYS servers crashed in 10s. Last Shonentachi for Snow Man was in 2019.Shonen Ninja (少年忍者) → A big Johnny’s Junior group. Raul used to be a member before he joined Snow Man.Shoukai Rap (紹介ラップ) → Introduction rap. It’s a song used to introduce the members.”Sinks deep into your heart!” (Gozouroppu ni shimiwataru!/五臓六腑に染み渡る!) → A recurring joke made popular by a manzai group. Roughly means that something is very good.SixTONES → Snow Man’s peer group, they debuted together in 2020. Most members are very close with each other as they have had many jobs together over the years. The members of SixTONES often calls Snow Man, "Manzu-niisan".Slow straight → On 26th June 2021, Shota uploaded a video on their official twitter account explaining that he did not say "sausage" in Hello Hello. He has been watching over Snow Man for years and is basically the admired senpai of every Suno member. He was the one who “named” the group in 2012.Takizawa Kabuki (滝沢歌舞伎) → Yearly modern Kabuki stage play which Snow Man has been performing for years. It started in 2006 with a different name and 2008 was the only year without a single Snow Man member participating in it. Snow Man started performing in it as a group since 2009. On May 3rd 2012, Snow Man was formed with the remaining members of Mis Snow Man.Takuma → A nickname of Sakuma from Koji.Tanaka Juri → SixTONES member, close with Shota.Tantou / -Tan (担当/-担) → Japanese term used to describe whose fan you are. In Japan it is believed that blood type affects your personality, and type B is said to be free, wanting to do things their own way, even selfish. (By the way, Abe is Type AB, Sakuma’s Type O and the others are Type A)Tyrannosaurus → Abe-chan wrote the lyrics to Snow Man’s member introduction rap and he thought that Raul resembles a tyrannosaurus with the fact that he can dominate the place he’s at.Uchiwa (うちわ) → A fan that Johnny’s fans often hold at concerts. You can buy the official ones which have the members’ faces or you can make your own.UchuuSix (宇宙Six) → Meme’s former junior group. The group disbanded in 2020. Meme was originally a member of UchuuSix when he joined Snow Man and was a member of both of them for a while simultaneously, but then he left U6 to focus on merely Snow Man. Since he’s the youngest among the UchuuSix members, he considers the other members as his older brothers.Waifu (Yome/嫁) → Sakuma often uses “yome” to call his favourite characters. The english equivalent of it is “waifu” for the female characters or “husbandos” for the male characters.Wednesday → “Wednesday is Snow Man day.” SnowTube is released on Wednesday, and many of their important releases are often released on Wednesday. Sakuma does his own version of it by adding some acrobatic moves to it (he calls it acrobatic wotagei).Valentine’s Day → It’s a recurring joke that whenever Valentine’s Day comes up the members like to boast about how many chocolates they got from girls back in their school days. Sakuma and Koji are the ones who got a lot of chocolate as kids.Vasayegh Wataru → Member of Shonen Ninja, Raul’s ex-group. Medium-sized: hosts around 17,000 people.Youtube-gawa-san / Youtube-san-gawa (“The Youtube people”) → A term they use to describe the staff members that plan, direct and execute their Youtube videos.Yurigumi (ゆり組) → Shota and Date-sama were in the same kindergarten group and the group was called Yurigumi. Sakuma’s kindergarten class was also called Yurigumi but he was in a different school.Yusapyon (ゆさぴょん) → The narrator of Sore Suno. They often call out her name at the start of each episode.Zig Zag Love (ZZL) → Snow Man's first song. They received it in 2015 for Shounentachi.Zig Zag Pose → A type of pose you do with fingers by forming the letter Z. Associated with their song Zig Zag Love.ZIP → A nationwide morning TV show. It airs on Monday until Friday at 5:50 - 8:00am JST.
